Estoy Aqui!

Just checking in real fast. I'm still working on O&E. I have a character who I think will really make writing the story a lot easier because they're young and not well-traveled, giving me a chance to throw some information the reader's way without it sounding like "As you know, Themistocles..."

I'm also (yet again) trying to arrange a vacation in Greece this summer. I think the thing I'm really dragging my feet on is the flight. I HATE flying. Hate it. And the fact that I've never been to Greece and am going alone is making me a nervous wreck. I'm thinking about going on this package here

Quick travel experts (*cough* Wynn *cough*)! Any suggestions? I'm still trying to find a trip that will humor me and take me to Sparta, but alas unless you're a history buff it's just not that interesting to tourists.

And finally for those interested I now have a blog in Japanese. If you're curious check it out: California no Casual Seikatsu (California Casual Lifestyle)

Hi, before you go booking a tour (which in my opinion is far too expensive and restrictive) let me know and I can put you in touch with 1) a good cheap place to stay in Athens with a woman I have met OR at least tell you reasonable places to stay and I have friends working in tourism there that can book you cheaply into places you might want to visit. You don't need to fear being there on your own. It's a very safe country and very friendly. And you can do the trip MUCH cheaper on your own and be free to make your way around. It's easy to get to Sparta by bus from Athens very inexpensively and Sparta is a very small town so no problem finding lodgings there. There's lots of very nice pensions in Greece so you don't need to look at pricey hotels.

Thanks Wynn! The thing is though I've never travelled by myself without at least being in a group of some sort. I don't speak a word of the language and am easily turned around. Still if you want to email me about it with suggestions I'd love to hear your ideas!
